ANANTAPUR: Twenty unemployed youths, selected and trained earlier under Andhra Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project, were given two-wheelers and artificial insemination kits to act as Integrated Livestock Development Centres (ILDC) here on Thursday, under a project jointly sponsored by District Water Management Agency and J.K. Trust Grama Vikas Yojna. The youth would try to improve cattle breed in villages and also milk production by helping the beneficiaries of APRLP to improve their living standards. The youth known as `Gopal' would visit about 5 to 10 villages under their purview every day and inseminate cattle in the ovulation stage artificially. They would also help farmers in raising fodder plots to overcome fodder shortage, E.N. Srinivasulu, Project Director of DWMA said. During the three-year project, the DWMA and JK Trust would spend about Rs. 4.26 lakhs on each ILDC. The youth would be paid Rs. 1,500 incentive and Rs. 300 HRA every month.
