Chandigarh: The Haryana Government would provide free potable drinking water to 8.20 lakh Scheduled Caste families under the Indira Gandhi Drinking Water Scheme. Besides free individual connections, each SC household would be provided a water storage tank of 200 litre capacity and equipped with tap free of cost, Public Health Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said. Out of a total 37.12 lakh families, 25 lakh families were residing in rural areas and most of them had not got individual water connections.
