Policewoman's relatives stage protest in Bhind

Bhind (MP): Relatives of the woman police sub-inspector, who was allegedly shot dead, continued with their protest on Friday alleging involvement of the district police chief who denied the charge and proceeded on leave as senior officers started a probe into the death.

Relatives of district Crime Branch officer Chetana Sharma (29), whose body was found with bullet marks yesterday, raised slogans against Superintendent of Police Rajababu Singh and demanded his arrest, police said.

The protestors had called for a shutdown in the city today but it had little affect as most of the shops remained open, sources said.

Inspector General of Police Reena Mitra, who was sent from Bhopal to conduct a probe into Chetana's death, worked out modalities of the investigation and inspected the crime scene, Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Singh told PTI.

As the high-level probe started into the death, the district police chief proceeded on leave, he added. PTI
