BANGALORE: The BangaloreOne Citizen Service Centres will accept applications for renewal/ re-issue of passports and applications for passports for minors from December 6. This facility is in addition to accepting applications for first-time passports. According to a press release from the Regional Passport Office, the new facility will enhance the level of services provided to the citizens and reduce the waiting time for submission of applications. This facility will be available for those residing in the city, who come under the Police Commissioner's jurisdiction and those from Bangalore Rural coming under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent of Police, Bangalore Rural. The applications will be accepted only from the applicants. There will be no additional fee, apart from the regular fee prescribed for various passport services. Fee has to be paid by demand draft only. In view of security considerations, the BangaloreOne Centres will not accept applications for re-issue of passports containing valid visas and passports for adopted children. These applications will continue to be accepted by the Passport office. Applications for miscellaneous services will also continue to be accepted at the Passport office. No direct Tatkal submission facility will be available at the Centres. However the applications submitted at the Centres can be converted to Tatkal by approaching the Tatkal counter at the Passport Office, the press release said.
