WARM WELCOME: Students presenting flowers to Collector D. Kadmiel at the District Education Science Fair near Rachanapalli at Anantapur on Saturday.

ANANTAPUR: District Collector D. Kadmiel has advised students to develop scientific temperament to make it big in life.

Every student can become a scientist if they have creativity and inquisitiveness, he said.

Inaugurating the three-day District Education and Science Fair 2006-07 on the premises of a private school near Rachanapalli near here on Saturday, he said such fairs would bring out the creativity among students.

It was an opportunity, particularly for the students from rural areas, to prove themselves, he said.

He also suggested the teachers to hone the skills of students by identifying their fields of interest. Along with the teachers, parents could also play a vital role in shaping the future of students, he felt.

District Education Officer Abdul Hameed said students from 58 schools from all over the district are participating in the fair, with 122 exhibits. The exhibits were selected at mandal and division-level competitions. Winners at the district fair would get an opportunity to participate in the State science fair to be held in Guntur from January 3 to 6.
