TOKYO: Defending champion Brazil beat Serbia-Montenegro on Saturday to advance to the final of the men's volleyball World championships. Gilberto Godoy spiked for 19 points to lead the Olympic champions to a 25-19, 15-25, 25-22, 25-12 win and a place in the final against Poland, which defeated Bulgaria 25-20, 26-28, 25-23, 25-23.
Elsewhere, the United States came back from 2-1 down to beat Canada 3-2. Riley Salmon scored 14 points to lead the Americans to a 25-21, 24-26, 12-25, 25-21, 15-9 win to advance into Sunday's match for ninth place against Germany which defeated Puerto Rico 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18. Canada can now finish no higher than 11th. AP
