Seminar on child rights held

CHENNAI: The Montfort Community Development Society, Adyar, and the Cardinal Ledger Foundation, Canada, held an international seminar on child rights from Wednesday to Friday at CLRI here.

More than 450 participants from various countries including India, America, Canada, Denmark, Nepal, France, participated.

The international delegates deliberated upon and presented papers on issues such as children at risk, child health, legal rights, teacher-child relationship, trafficking, media, joint families, disability, and child labour.

Short films focussing on child rights were screened between sessions. The results of the deliberations would be consolidated and sent to the Government of India, said Bro. Patrick, organising secretary.
