KANNUR: Sri Sri Ravishankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation, has called upon political parties to be spiritual, religious and secular for establishing a society free from corruption and violence. Interacting with religious and political leaders during his visit here on Saturday, he said corruption could be prevented if political leaders become spiritual. Mahatma Gandhi was the best example of spirituality in a political leader, he said. Religious leaders, on the other hand, should be more spiritual and secular, he said adding that secularising religions would help check terrorism. He also advised business people to be service-oriented. Bharatiya Janata Party leader C.K. Padmanabhan, K.C. Kadambooran (Nationalist Congress Party), T.O. Mohanan (Congress), C. Chandrashekharan (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), Fr. Thomas Thythottam, Anees Moulavi and P.K. Premarajan (Baha'i faith) were present at the interaction. A large crowd of his followers received Ravishankar at the railway station here in the morning. He visited the Central Jail and addressed inmates. He, later, addressed a huge crowd of his followers and the public at the Police Maidan.
