No change in parking charges on Brigade Road

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: You can still park on Brigade Road and pay according to charges on the parking meters, which comes to Rs. 5 for 30 minutes or Rs. 10 for an hour; after which if your time has run out, the traffic police "tiger" is waiting around the corner to tow away your car.

Enquiries with the Brigade Trade Association and parking meter attendants on Saturday showed there were no changes in parking charges as some rumours suggested. But you do have to pay considerably more, Rs. 60 per hour outside these designated parking slots. The traffic police favour the metered parking system. They feel it limits parking because of the expense involved.
