Trekking expedition begins

ON A MISSION: Members of the National Defence Academy trekking team at Wellington on Sunday.

Udhagamandalam: Eighteen officer cadets and one officer instructor of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakvasala, set off on a trekking expedition at Wellington near here on Sunday. It was flagged off by the Officiating Commandant, Madras Regimental Centre, Colonel P.K. Dhodapkar.

Addressing the participants, he said that while trekking through the hills and valleys, the trekkers would be provided with the unique opportunity of getting a close look at the culture and traditions of the local people, particularly the tribals.

The team leader, Lt. C. Supradeep said that over the next five days they would cover about 62 km.
