BANGALORE: The event has brought together many hearing impaired in wedlock in the past. Swayamvara 2006, an annual matrimonial meet for the hearing impaired promises to bring together many more during this edition. The sixth edition of the event will be held in Bangalore from December 23. The Swayaamvara Trust provides free gold mangalsutra and wedding contumes for the couples. The meet has so far attracted persons with hearing impairment from all castes across the country. According to founder secretary C.N. Vijayaraju, over 720 persons have been the beneficiaries of the Swayamvara during the last five years. While the selection of grooms and spouses will be held on December 22 and 23, Mr. Vijayaraju said muhurtam for the selected couples would be held on December 24, which would be followed by registration of marriages at the sub-registrar's office. He said, "Those who are not interested in tying the knot at the venue arranged by the Swayamvara Trust can arrange their marriage according to their convenience."
Venue
The matrimonial meet will be held at NDK Kalyanamantap, 13th Main, HAL 2nd Stage, 100 Ft. Road, Indiranagar. Those interested to participate may send their applications to Swayamvara Trust, 135, 18th Cross, Lakshmipuram, Halasur, or get details on phone 25572020/ 98803-05877. The last date for registration of names is December 15.
