Film fraternity votes for the next superstar

S.R. Ashok Kumar

CHENNAI: Rajinikanth became the favourite of the masses through his unique style of acting, and is the reigning superstar.

Now, with the rise of some extraordinary young talent, one question has cropped up. Who will be the next superstar?

To answer this question, Vijay TV conducted a closed ballot voting among members of the film fraternity.

Everyone in the industry, from producers to light boys and members of other unions voted for the `Superstar of Tomorrow'.

Actor Sathyaraj said the name of the person he voted for was `a secret to be revealed only on the red-letter day'.

Vijaya T. Rajendar readily said that he voted for his son, Silambarasan, as he is already being called the `little super star'.

Actor Uday Kiran, hero of `Poi', felt that Rajinikanth would continue to be the superstar for the next 15 years, and so has voted for him.

If you tune in to Reliance Mobile Vijay Awards on December 2 at 7 p.m. you will be able to see the Tamil film industry casting their votes for the `Superstar of Tomorrow'.
