NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Sunday dedicated the newly-constructed buildings of two municipal primary schools in East Delhi. Both the buildings were inaugurated by the Delhi Congress chief Ram Babu Sharma in the presence of local MP, MLAs, Councillors and citizens. While one building was inaugurated at Gamri Extension in Sudama Puri, another was dedicated to the people at Nand Nagri. Both fall in the Shahdara-South zone.
30 classrooms
The school building at Sudama Puri comprises 30 classrooms, two multi-purpose halls and office rooms each and a toilet block at each floor. The construction work of this building was completed within 24 months at a cost of Rs.1.31 crores. Similarly, the new school building at Nand Nagri comprises 20 classrooms, one hall, four office rooms, two store rooms and library rooms each, a science room, computer room and toilet blocks. This double storey building was constructed at a cost of Rs.86 lakhs within a record period of 18 months. East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit, MLA Bhisham Sharma, Municipal Councillors Ishwar Singh Bagri, Brahm Swaroop Sharma and Ishwar Singh Goel were also present.
