Belgaum: BJP MP from Belgaum, Suresh Angadi has asked the farmers to cooperate with the Government when it takes up desilting of Bellary nala, near Basavankudachi village, next month. Talking to villagers on Saturday, he said the Government had sanctioned Rs. 3.7 crore for desilting of the nala. The Deputy Commissioner had already released Rs.1 crore for the work, he said. He said the farmers of the village had been demanding desilting of the nala for several years. The farmers could make use of the desilted soil to improve fertility of their land, he added.
