KURNOOL: Ghantasala Gana Kala Samithi celebrated the 84th birth anniversary of playback singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao by creating a platform for child prodigies to render Ghantasala film numbers here on Sunday night. All the seven singers were aged below 12 years. Samithi organiser B.S.S Rao said the body planned to celebrate the birth anniversary in a different way this year. Ghantasala Ganasabha president K.V. Rao from Hyderabad attended the function. Office-bearers Jagannatha Gupta, Vasudeva Rao, Y. Ramanaiah and others were present. P. Chandrasekhar, cardiologist gave away mementos to the participants and guests. The child artistes enthralled the audience for more than two hours. Superintendent of Police B. Malla Reddy formally inaugurated the programme. The child artistes who took part in the programme include Anirudh, V.V. Pardhasaradhi, Sudharani, Bhuvanakrithi, Abhiram, Rohit and Saicharita.
