Hulkoti KVK wins award

Bangalore: K.H. Patil Krishi Vigyana Kendra of Hulkoti in Gadag district has won the National KVK Award this year for developing technologies to help farmers in the drought-prone area. Prabhu Kulkarni, Zonal Coordinator of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, said here on Tuesday that the award was in recognition of the KVK's work in soil and water conservation, dry land technologies and establishment of self-help groups. L.G. Hiregoudar, training organiser and head of KVK, said KVK had managed to reach the latest technologies to small farmers in 168 villages in drought-prone Gadag district.
