Helping online stores do better

Special Correspondent

Namo Solutions has also come out with MP3-enabled gadgets for the stores

Bangalore: People of the Bangalore city are the third largest online shoppers in the country, according to a survey. Helping more online stores get into the act is what Namo Solutions, a major e-commerce solution provider of the U.S. is about to do here.

After a sponsored seminar on "Empowering business by e-commerce," Namo Solutions CEO Vinod Jain told presspersons that the software available today enabled brand new entities such as Virtual Reseller, Virtual Distributor and Virtual Manufacturer enter the scene and network with each other. Giving a further boost would be online product catalogues to be accessed by business partners.

"The basic premise is finding your strengths whether you already have a physical store or distribution network or not. Then you build a business model around your strengths and outsource the rest of the process. So you can move faster up the value chain,'' Mr. Jain said.

In business-to-business transactions, a virtual network has its advantages such as better inventory control and access to market trends, and in pricing. Selling from an e-store is going to be a major business component in the coming years even if Internet penetration is still relatively low in India, as some surveys showed, he said.
