Special Correspondent

EVIDENCE?: A senior citizen handing over a contaminated drinking water sample to City Corporation Commissioner Thippesh at a meeting in Gulbarga on Tuesday.

GULBARGA: Gulbarga City Corporation officials including Commissioner Thippesh were criticised by residents of various localities in the city for not providing drinking water, underground drainage facility and good roads.

The interactive meet between residents and corporation officials was organised by the Hyderabad Karnataka Janapara Horata Samiti . The officials were taken aback by the barrage of complaints. Mr. Thippesh said while the people have every right to question the failures of the corporation and demand the corporation to fulfil its duties, the people should also cooperate with the corporation by paying their taxes regularly .

He said the corporation required a sum of Rs. 60 lakh every month for maintenance work, but the revenue collection iwas only Rs. 25 lakh.
