TIRUPATI: Elections to the three gram panchayats -- MR Palle, Settipalle and Thimminaidupalem coming under Tirupati (rural) mandal - were held peacefully on Tuesday. Forces were deployed at all the polling stations with the result that barring stray incidents in the MR Palle panchayat, the elections were peaceful. Though the counting, currently in progress, would be completed tonight, the results would be withheld till December 11 in view of the orders issued to this effect by the apex court.
