Varanasi: Security has been beefed up in all religious places in Varanasi ahead of the 14th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Mosque, which falls on Wednesday. Religious places like the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Sankat Mochan Temple and the Jnanvapi Mosque have been sanitised by security personnel to prevent untoward incidents. The security drill in the city has been merited in the wake of the bomb blasts that took place here in March this year, killing 21 persons. ``Here, civil police and commandos have been deployed for the security of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. We do proper checking of all the visitors. We have been given briefing in the wake of the anniversary of Babri mosque demolition. We are all prepared to tackle any situation,'' said Shashikant Tiwari, Circle Officer, Jnanvyapi Security. ``The problems that we are facing out here are many. They (devotees) are not allowed to enter even with their mobiles or pens. They face difficulties in collecting their belongings. Their spiritual feelings are hurt. Besides, the conduct of administration towards women is also bad,'' said Shyam Sundar Goyal, a devotee.
