Palash, Kannan score upset wins

GURGAON: Palash Tiwari and Navneetha Kannan scored shock victories beating seeded opponents to move into the second round in the boy's singles event in the ITF Junior Circuit tennis tournament at the National Tennis Academy here on Tuesday.

Palash defeated third seeded Navinder Pal Sidhu 6-3, 6-3 while Kannan outgunned the Czech Republic's David Grund 6-1, 6-2.
