TDP asks CCI to begin MSP purchases

ADILABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday staged a dharna near the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) demanding that the latter begin its minimum support price (MSP) operations at all its purchase centres in the district.

TDP district president Gone Hanmanth Raoand others criticised the Government for working against the interest of farmers.

They decried the decreasing price of cotton and failure of the Government in making the CCI take up the MSP operations.

The leaders went to the CCI office and talked with Branch Manager S.K. Chaturvedi on beginning of the purchase at all centres.
