New incentives for patwaris in Haryana

HUDA plots to be reserved for lawyers

CHANDIGARH : Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday announced a bonanza of incentives for patwaris and kanungos, including enhancement in payment of rent for patwarkhanas, stationery allowance, facility of five opportunities for appearing in departmental examination for promotion from patwari to kanungo, and provision of furniture in all the 2,691 patwar circles in the State.

Presiding over a State-level conference organized by the Revenue Patwar and Kanungo Association, Haryana, at Kurukshetra, Mr. Hooda announced the decision to enhance the rent of Patwarkhanas from Rs.10 per month at present to Rs.300 in urban areas and Rs.200 in rural areas.

The facility of payment of rent would be admissible only in areas where the patwar circles do not have their own buildings.

He also announced the decision to raise their stationery allowance from Rs.25 per month to Rs.100. All Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to clear their TA bills speedily.

The demand for enhancement of the salary of Kanungos would be considered and the issue of Assured Career Progression (ACP) would be examined and a decision taken soon.

While describing the patwaris and kanungos as representatives of the State Government, Mr. Hooda exhorted them to understand their responsibilities and make a significant contribution in achieving the target of making Haryana the country's No.One state in all fields of development.

Revenue and Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said the revenue records of the State would be available shortly on a website. Adequate funds have been provided for computerization of land records.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hooda disclosed that the HUDA had formulated a policy to reserve plots for lawyers.
