Mega airman rally to be held in Mangalore

    MANGALORE: The Indian Air Force will organise a state-level mega airman recruitment in Mangalore for three days on January 12, 14 and 16. According to the M. Maheshwar Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, this is going to be the largest recruitment rally held in Mangalore.

    Squadron Leader K.K. Bhadhuri, Karnataka in-charge of the recruitment of airmen, who was also present in the press conference, said the Air Force recruitment cell was holding the rally in Mangalore to get more people from this region as there were many resourceful young people but were unable to access the recruitment centres elsewhere.

    The recruitment rally will be held for three categories namely technical and non-technical groups in the Y category and technical trades group in X category. According to Mr. Rao candidates appearing for Non-technical trades in the Y category from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Kolar, Mandya and Chamarajnagar would give written exams on January 12, 2007.

    Candidates appearing for Y group from Uttara Kannada, Davanagere, Bellary, Dharwad, Hubli, Gadag, Koppal, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Bidar, Belgaum, Raichur and Gulburga district will give examinations on January 14, 2007 and all the other candidates applying for X group in technical trades will give examination on January 16, 2007.

    The venue will be the Town Hall, he added.

    Air show

    Coinciding with the rally, there are also plans to have an air show in Mangalore but that was yet to be confirmed Mr. Rao said.
