HYDERABAD: Three persons, including a real estate trader, were arrested by the city police on Tuesday for allegedly trying to sell leopard hide to some persons at Narayanaguda. The arrested persons, Mohammed Buranuddin (28) of Himayathnagar, P. Rakesh Reddy (27) of Narayanaguda and Ramachandra Reddy (28) of Ramanthapur, procured the hide from a person named Ramesh who is absconding. Ramesh requested them to help him sell it for Rs.20, 000. But the trio had decided to sell it for Rs.1 lakh. When they were waiting for a person at Narayanaguda to deliver it, the police raided their place and rounded up the real estate businessman Buranuddin and his associates Rakesh Reddy and Ramachandra Reddy. The hide was also seized from their possession. The police said a veterinary doctor of the Nehru Zoological Park at Bahadurpura confirmed that it was a leopard's hide. "We are yet to ascertain as to how Ramesh managed to get the hide measuring 194 cms in length and 50 cms wide," a police official said. A manhunt has been launched to nab Ramesh.
