Royalty on coal to be revised

NEW DELHI: The Government on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that the royalty on coal and lignite would be revised within the next couple of months.

The process of finalising a Cabinet note on this issue was on and it would be referred to the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs shortly, Union Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayana Rao said. He was responding to a call-attention motion on the situation arising out of non-revision of royalty on coal and other minerals.
