Manish scores century

HYDERABAD : A century by Manish Pandey (134, 155 balls, 18x4, 1x6) helped Karnataka to score 244 for three against Hyderabad's 251 on the second day of the all-India Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-17) Group C match at Gymkhana Grounds here on Tuesday.

At Gymkhana: Hyderabad 251 in 106.2 overs (Minash Gabriel 36 not out, Abrar Kazi six for 62) vs Karnataka 244 for three in 71 overs (Manish Pandey 134, Arjun Hoysala batting 70).

At NFC: Rajasthan 161 & 58 for no loss in 21 overs (Sandeep Parihar 34 batting) vs Uttar Pradesh 237 in 86.4 overs (Bhawani Singh 53, Akash Varma 35, Amit Mishra 39, Ashok Manria four for 25, Sandeep Parihar three for 25).

At Visakhapatnam

At Port Stadium: Delhi 291 vs Andhra 201 for eight in 115 overs (SKM Shoaib 76, M. Ajay Kumar 35 no, Sunny Sehrewat three for 35).

At Ukku Stadium: Punjab 233 vs Baroda 200 for eight in 96 overs (Nikunj Mohite 79, S. Keda Devdhar 55, Sidhartha Kaul four for 38).

Selection trials

Osmania University will organise selection trials to pick the wrestling teams for the All India inter-university championship to be held in Gulbarga from December 25. Eligible candidates should report at the OU Indoor Stadium on December 8 at 9.00 a.m.

Open tournament

The One-Goal Chess Academy coach will organise an open tournament as part of the Sri Guruji centenary celebrations from December 23 to 25 with a total prize money of Rs. 50,000. Special prizes will be given to aged, disabled, women and age group participants. Contact 9949311064.

Hockey championship

The 52nd Schools Games Federation State hockey championship for boys and girls (under-19) will be held at Madanapalle from December 8 to 12 with 21 teams competing for top honours, according to K. Narayana Reddy, organising secretary.
