Puducherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues, legislators, Pradesh Congress Committee president P. Shanmugham, AICC general secretary V. Narayanasamy MP, Speaker R. Radhakrishnan and Deputy Speaker A.V. Sreedharan paid homage at the statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar in Bharathi Park on the occasion of the leader's 50th death anniversary on Wednesday. Convener of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam R.V. Janakiraman and party men garlanded the statue. Volunteers of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Bharathya Janata Party, Pattali Makkal Katchi, CPI, CPI(M), the Dalit Panthers of India, the Dravidar Kazhagam, the Dalit Sena, the Bhim Sena, the Bahujan Samaj Party, the Lok Jan Sakthi Party and members belonging to various associations of Government employees were among those, who paid homage at the statue of Ambedkar after taking out rallies. The Chief Minister and his colleagues paid floral tributes later at the portrait of Ambedkar at the Ambedkar Mani Mandapam on Beach Road. PCC president, P. Shanmugham, accompanied by party legislators, the Chief Minister, tyagis and office bearers observed the Memorial Day of Ambedkar by offering homage at the leader's portrait in the party office.
