Bypolls: counting today

HYDERABAD: The stage is set for the commencement of counting of votes for the by-elections held in Karimnagar and Bobbili Parliamentary constituencies.

Counting will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday at SRR Government Degree College in Karimnagar and Police Training College in Vizianagaram. Results are expected by afternoon as electronic voting machines were used in both constituencies. In Karimnagar, around 300 polling staff will take up counting. Police have made elaborate security arrangements in and around SRR Degree College. The district administration has ordered closure of all liquor shops, bars and toddy shops in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
