Awareness camps

Bangalore: In an effort to create greater awareness about the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) is holding a series of awareness camps in Bangalore Rural and Urban districts between December 9 and 17.

The camp, to be held in collaboration with the Karnataka Legal Services Authority, will be inaugurated at Krishnarajapuram on December 9 by V. Gopala Gowda.

The places to be covered by the camp include Sriramapuram, Nagarabhavi, Talghattapura and Kumaraswamy Layout.

The workshop will also discuss other laws related to women, especially the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technologies (PNDT) Act, which was enforced in 1996 to check female foeticide.
