Airline official held in cheating case

CHENNAI
: Police arrested a woman, who was working as an Assistant Manager, systems and management, in the Indian (formerly Indian Airlines) here on charges of cheating a bank to the tune of Rs. nine lakh.
Based on a complaint from the ICICI Bank, the police registered a case of cheating against the officer, Sasi Ebinesar.
Forged documents
Investigations revealed that Sasi Ebinesar had allegedly submitted forged documents and borrowed a loan of Rs nine lakh for building a house in Tambaram. Though she had sold the house, she had not repaid the loan. Hence, the bank preferred a complaint.
Based on her confession, the CCB police registered a case. She was produced before the Saidapet Magistrate court and remanded to 15 days' judicial custody, a press note said.
