CHENNAI: A treat awaited the fans of music composer M.S. Viswanathan at the small hall at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Wednesday. At the end of the felicitations and the inauguration of a website, the composer threw a surprise by taking his famous harmonium and composing different tunes for a song by Raghavendra.

The occasion was the launch of the website www.msvtimes.com. The official website of legendary Indian composer of film music M.S. Viswanathan was set up by a core crew comprising Sabesan, Ramki, Vaidy and Ramkumar.

Cho. S. Ramaswamy, Editor, Thuglak, inaugurating the website, said that MSV had no parallel. He was a source of inspiration to others in his field. Members of the music orchestra who have played several songs with the composer were honoured.

MSV said that it was T.K. Ramamurthy who showed him to the whole world "at a time when I was struggling to get one full meal a day." Expressing his indebtedness to him, he said that one could afford to have differences at work while on the call of duty, but there ought to be no differences entertained in friendship. "Mortal man, immortal music," was his watchword in life, he said. Mr. Ramamurthy said that as much as he guided MSV, MSV too was a guide to him.

Carnatic singer Madurai G.S. Mani said that MSV handled and featured several rare musical instruments. Other speakers among the orchestra of MSV offered their felicitations on the occasion.
