Sports meet

Mayor T. Krishna Reddy will inaugurate the three-day annual sports meet for MCH corporators, MPs, MLAs and other officials on December 8 at the Victory Playground in Chaderghat.

There will be contests in cricket, athletics, basketball, musical chairs, caroms, tennikoit, chess, kabaddi, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, etc., for both men and women in individual as well as team events.

Pilgrims in Jeddah

The first batch of 265 Haj pilgrims from the State have reached Jeddah safely, according to Chairman of State Haj Committee Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed on Wednesday. According to a press release, the Chairman spoke to Consul General (Haj) India on Wednesday and enquired about the pilgrims' welfare.

RTC bus pass centres

APSRTC will set up a new bus pass centre at Chanda Nagar near Veera Brahmendra Swamy Temple soon. A new bus pass centre had begun functioning at S.R. Nagar from December 4, according to C. Pandu Ranga Murthy, Regional Manager, Hyderabad division. This will take the total number of centres in the twin cities to 32, he added. For details call on phone no. 23443320.
