HYDERABAD: With Government announcing compensation for those who would lose land under the Outer Ring Road project, the work on its second phase is expected to gain momentum. Terming the package as fairly progressive, HUDA Vice-Chairman Jayesh Ranjan said this was the first-of-its-kind package in the country and would `more than adequately' compensate the affected. However, he said that the financial commitment for the project would increase manifold, but "we have ways and means of achieving it'. The compensation package would be implemented within 18 months, he said. While 5,000 persons would be getting plots, cash component would be given to 3,000 farmers. Referring to the land acquisition for the ORR second phase of 138 km, he said the process would be set in motion and six teams constituted to oversee the acquisition process. HUDA would go for compulsory acquisition now that a good package has been announced, he added.
