FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES tying up with local colleges to offer management programmes is a trend that is catching on. One of the early starters was the Bangalore-based Christ College. Its tie-up with the Ohio University, for instance, resulted in the OHIO-Christ Academy that now offers a full-time Ohio University MBA programme. Admissions for this course for the academic year 2007-08 are now open. The 18-month MBA programme is spread across six academic quarters and it includes a six-week internship, four-week International Business Consulting Project and an option to complete the final quarter of the course on the OHIO University campus in the Unites States. The international accreditation body, AACSB-International, has accredited all OHIO University Programmes, including its India Programme. Only 12 schools in Asia are so far accredited by the AACSB-international. Practical learning at OHIO-Christ Academy is given shape through a full-fledged placement body that assists students in getting internships, Applied Research Projects, as well as final placements. Basically, anyone with a degree from a recognised university could apply, provided they have a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate marks. For more details, call Ph: 9880715660.
