NIZAMABAD: Director-General of Police Swaranjit Sen has said the Maoists need to rethink about their ideology in the wake of series of major setbacks they received recently and advised them better join the regular stream of democratic process. He said constant combings, recovery of dumps, arms and ammunition, arrests, surrenders and casualties of naxalites in exchange of fires helped the police gain upper hand over the militants. Moreover, the Maoists' ideology has become obsolete. Public administration and the police machinery could reach out to the needy by creating a confidence in them over a period of time, he said addressing a press conference here on Thursday. Mr. Sen who arrived in the district on Wednesday, participated in a number of programmes in Kamareddy sub-division and in the district headquarter town. He laid the foundation to the buildings of One Town and IV Town police stations, inaugurated the AR Quarters and reviewed the law and order situation. He said the extremist problem, which plagued the district, has now been wiped out. IG of Police A.R. Anuradha, Deputy IG Anjanikumar and SP Mahesh Chandra Laddha were present.
