Special Correspondent

To be headed by district Judge and comprise two members

HYDERABAD: The Cabinet has given its nod to a proposal to set up permanent Lok Adalats at Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Chittoor and Kadapa.

They will be headed by a district judge each and will have two retired judges as members.

At a meeting here on Wednesday, the Cabinet sanctioned Marine Police Stations at Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Suryalanka and Durgarajapatnam as wanted by the Union Government to provide security to the coastline and fishermen. Necessary staff would be recruited soon, a Government spokesman said later.

In all, 3,000 home guard posts were also sanctioned for this fiscal. Of them, 1,600 were meant for Hyderabad, 400 for Cyberabad and 1,000 for different districts. These posts place a burden of Rs 5.4 crores on the exchequer annually. A proposal to establish 500 integrated livestock development centres by J. K. Trust Gram Vikas Yojana in Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa, Mahabubnagar, Khammam, Medak, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts at a cost of Rs 35 crores was also cleared.
