DHARWAD: "Abhinaya Bharati" an organisation dedicated to theatre activities has organised a three-day theatre festival "Hemanta Natakotsava" from December 9 in Dharwad. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Aravind Kulkarni, secretary, Abhinaya Bharati said that the organisation was beginning its 26th year's activities with a theatre festival. During the theatre festival three plays from different troupes would be staged at the Srujana Auditorium in Karnatak College campus, he said. On the first day (December 9) Karnataka Kaloddharak Sangha will be staging Chandrashekhar Kambar's play "Helatena Kela Geleya" directed by Prakash Garud. The theatre festival will conclude with the staging of a hilarious comedy "Undadi Gunda" by Neenasam. The comedy is an Indian adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith's comedy "She Stoops To Conquer". Mr. Kulkarni said the theatre festival was being conducted in association with Rotary Club of Dharwad Central and Sri Amba Bhavani Mahila Mandal. Abhinaya Bharati organised a national theatre festival "Shanti-Maitri Rangotsava" last year as part of its silver jubilee celebrations, in which twenty-nine plays from 11 languages were staged.
