Seminar on human rights

KOLLAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate a human rights seminar here on December 10 to observe the Human Rights Day.

The inaugural function will be presided over by State Human Rights Commission Chairman N. Dinkar. Following the inaugural function there will be talks on four human rights-related topics. The talk on the topic "consumers and human rights" will be delivered by Supplyco Managing Director Jacob Thomas. DIG (Jails) N.S. Balakrishnan Nair will talk on `human rights of prisoners," journalist K.M. Roy will talk on "media and protection of human rights." Kudumbasree regional director M. Nandakumar will talk on "local bodies and human rights protection."
