Nine-wkt. win for President's XI

Bangalore: President's XI defeated Dharwad Zone by nine wickets in a KSCA Under-13 Inter-Zonal tournament here on Thursday.

On the second and final day, chasing 50, President's XI scored 52 for one in 11.2 overs. Earlier, President's XI with a 46-run first innings lead bundled out Dharwad Zone for 96.

The scores: Dharwad 230 for three in 75 overs and 96 in 43 overs (Sanchit Sharma four for 11) lost to President's XI 276 for six in 75 overs and 52 for one in 11.2 overs.

Bangalore City 240 for five in 75 overs and 107 for two in 35 overs drew with Tumkur 135 in 70.2 overs.

Combined City 197 in 69.4 overs and 163 for four in 48 overs (Abhinav Manohar 71, Rahul Kini 55) drew with Raichur 176 for nine in 75 overs (Rahul Raj 50).

Shimoga 132 in 73.3 overs and 205 for eight in 73 overs (Srirag 66) drew with Bangalore 172 for six in 75 overs (Ajay 45).

SWRSA wins

The host SWR Sports Association, Hubli won its first match against Jupiter Cricket Club, Bangalore in Group B matches of the SWR General Manager's Cup cricket tournament here at the Railway Grounds on Thursday.

Chasing Jupiter CC's 188, SWRSA reached the target losing only two wickets.

The scores: Jupiter CC 188 in 30 overs lost to SWRSA 192 for two in 27 overs (Nilesh Khilare 82 n.o., Manoj Malhotra 58 n.o.).

Shetty, Kasturba win

A.J. Shetty Medical College and Kasturba Medical College, both from Mangalore, scored contrasting wins on day four of the P.C. Zahir memorial football tournament being played at Deralakatte, near here. While A.J. Shetty Medical College team got the better of Shree Devi College of Nursing, Mangalore 2-1, KMC drubbed Sahyadri College of Nursing 3-0.

Cricket tournament

Shree Devi College of Hotel Management, Mangalore is organising an inter-hotel management college cricket tournament at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore from December 11 to 16.
