THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 52nd State senior hockey championship will be held at the Engineering College Ground, Ramapuram in Thrissur from December 16 to 19. Fifteen teams will take part in the four-day tourament which will be played on a league-cum-knock out basis. The teams have been divided into the four groups and winner from each group will qualify for the semifinals which will played on December 18. The final will be played on December 19. SAI (Kollam) is the defending champion while Thiruvananthapuram is the runner-up. The groupings: Pool `A': SAI, Kottayam, Idukki & Alappuzha; Pool `B': Kollam, Kozhikode, Kannur & Palakkad; Pool `C': Kasaragod, Wayanad, Thrissur & Pathanamthitta; Pool `D': Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam & Malappuram.
