HYDERABAD : Arjun Hoysala's 97 helped Karnataka take the first innings lead against Hyderabad of the All-India Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-17) match at the Gymkhana grounds here.

The scores: At Gymkhana: Hyderabad 251 & 32 for two in 29 overs drew with Karnataka 370 for nine decl. in 115 overs (Arjun Hoysala 97, Uttam Raj 34, Minash Gabriel three for 96, Chandrakanth three for 98).

At NFC: Rajasthan 161 & 301 for seven decl. in 74 overs (Sandeep Parihar 39, Deepak Patil 86, Ankit Lamba 47, Mohd. Khalid four for 81) drew with Uttar Pradesh 237 & 67 for one.

At Visakhapatnam: Port Stadium: Delhi 291 and 231 for five in 68 overs (Tejeswi Prasad Yadav 80, Varun Sood 76, Karan Khanna 48) drew with Andhra 213 in 119.3 overs. At Ukku Stadium: Pujab 233 and 145 for two in 59 overs (S. Lumba 63 n.o., Kunwar Raina 48) drew with Baroda 238 in 111.2 overs. At Bangalore: Orissa 307 in 134.3 overs and 62 for three in 31 overs drew with Mumbai 389 for four decl. in 117 overs (Nikhil Patil 154, Sufiyan Sheikh 95, Pankaj Jaiswal 84 n.o.).

Madhya Pradesh 214 in 80 overs and 271 in 94.5 overs (Satyam Choudhry 72, Ankit Sharma 61 n.o., Rahil Shah five for 105) drew with Gujarat 418 for seven decl. in 104 overs.
