CHENNAI:
The Japanese Government should depute teachers in Japanese to Tamil Nadu for coaching the language to students of engineering colleges and polytechnics.
Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin made a request to this effect to a delegation of representatives of the Japanese corporate sector. Making use of the prevalence of high quality education, investors from Japan should establish new industrial units in the State, he said. The 14-member delegation, led by chairman of the Japan-India Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee of the International Friendship Exchange Council Hiromichi Fujita, raised queries, which were answered by the Secretaries of the Revenue and Industries departments, S. Audiseshiah and Shaktikanta Das. Yoshiaki Kodaki, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, was present.
