Queues swell at Secretariat

HYDERABAD: The queues of visitors at the Secretariat swelled, now that the Ministers are back in their offices with results of the byelections to Karimnagar and Bobbili parliamentary seats out.

On Thursday, a large number of people from various districts thronged the main gate facing the Hussainsagar, but had to undergo the ordeal of a "long wait" with tight security rules in force.

The men manning the ECIL-installed electronic security system sent them in one by one, by issuing the necessary swipe-cards.
