Manmohan urged not to visit Renkoji temple

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The All-India Forward Bloc urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that during his trip to Japan next week he refrain from visiting the Renkoji temple in Tokyo, where the "alleged ashes'' of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are kept.

In a statement, the All-India Forward Bloc general secretary Debabrata Biswas said that the Mukherjee Commission of Inquiry into the report had categorically said that no air crash took place on August 17, 1945 and therefore Netaji was not killed in an air crash.

Rejection questioned

He said during a discussion in Parliament that political parties had questioned the Government's rejection of the report as also the Action Taken Report.
