Four held in assault case

CHENNAI:
The city police on Thursday arrested four persons in connection with the attack on Meenakshisundaram, an accused in the Sankararaman murder case, on Tuesday night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (T.Nagar) Baskaran told The Hindu that they arrested R.T. Palani (37), Madan (20), Kutty alias Jaishankar (24) and Srinivasan (23). Based on their confession, the weapons, including an aruval, were seized. The TATA Indica car used by the gang was also recovered from them, he added.
According to eyewitness, about six persons had arrived in a car in K.K. Nagar on Tuesday night and attacked Meenakshisundaram with deadly weapons. He was admitted in the Government Hospital for treatment.
Commissioner of Police Letika Saran formed special teams on Wednesday to nab the accused.
