``Name roads after famous musicians'

: The State Government should consider naming streets and roads in Chennai in honour of famous musicians and dancers of the past and present such as Ariyakudi, Semmangudi, Balasaraswathi, Veenai Balachandar, M.S. Subbulakshmi and many others near the houses where they lived or in villages of their birth.
This request was put forth by L. Sabaretnam, Director, Chennai Petroleum Corporation, who inaugurated the 51st Art and Dance Festival and the 26th Natya Kala Conference and the 19th Pongal Nagaswara Isai Vizha.
The Nritya Choodamani title was conferred on Ananda Shankar Jayanth, Director, Shankarananda Kalakshetra, Hyderabad, and the title of Acharya Choodamani was conferred on Jayanthi Subramaniam, Director, Kala Darshana, Chennai.
Nritya Choodamanis Anita Ratnam and Bharati Sivaji, and the secretary of Hamsadwani R. Ramachandran felicitated.
R. Yagnaraman, secretary of Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, and Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetty, president of the sabha, also spoke.
