CPI leader's statue unveiled

NEW DELHI:
A statue of five-time Communist Party of India member of the Rajya Sabha Bhupesh Gupta was unveiled in the Parliament House on Thursday by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L. K. Advani, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Rehman Khan, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charnjit Singh Atwal, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi were present.
The CPI donated the nine-feet high statue, sculpted by Debabrata Chakraborty.
