Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in parts of the city between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday. The areas to be affected include Tank Road; Promanade Road; Assaye Road; Maenee Avenue Road; parts of St. John's Church Road and surrounding areas; Ramohally; Bheemanakuppe; Ramohally Road; Maligondanahally; Maragondanahally; Gulaganjanahalli; Devikiran paper mill; Pinto estate; BGS international school, KHB; Shirke apartment; Beedi workers colony, parts of Kengeri satellite town and surrounding areas.

Water adalat

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board will hold a "water adalat" at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer of East-2 Sub-Division, Indiranagar, on Friday. People from Indiranagar, Jeevan Bhima Nagar and HAL 2nd Stage can participate in the programme between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Quiz competition

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum will conduct an open house quiz on "Computer and electronics" for ITI and polytechnic students on Friday at 11.30 a.m.

Poetry collection

"Poetry Magic," a book of collected poems of Ruskin Bond published by Ratna Sagar, Bangalore, will be released here on Saturda.

It will be released at API Bhavana, Queen's Road, at 5 p.m. An "Open House" on teaching poetry so that children learn to appreciate it will be organised
