KSRTC, BMTC security staff trained by police

BANGALORE: It was a passing-out parade with a difference the Armed Police Training School, Yelahanka ,on Thursday, for the cadets who passed out were not police constables.

They were recently recruited security personnel of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).

As many as 84 candidates, including 45 from KSRTC and 39 from BMTC, passed out in the parade reviewed by Director General of Police (CoD and Training) K.R. Srinivasan.

The training was part of an initiative by KSRTC and BMTC to get the security personnel trained by the Karnataka Police to improve their capabilities. Hitherto, personnel upon selection were directly being put on duty without any formal training.
